1. Who is responsible for Sperata

Sperata is developed and provided by Andrii Pokatylo, an individual developer. In this policy, “Sperata” means the iPhone app, Apple Watch companion, widgets and Live Activities. “Andrii”, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to Andrii Pokatylo.

This policy covers information handled by Sperata and information that you choose to send directly to Andrii for support. It does not claim to describe an unrelated website or service merely because it links to this policy.

2. The short version

  • You do not need a Sperata account to use the app. An Apple Account may be needed for App Store purchases and subscription management.
  • Sperata processes and stores your contraction records in its local app storage on your Apple devices. Apple-managed backup limits are explained in section 6.
  • Sperata does not send your contraction history to Andrii or to a developer-operated server.
  • Sperata has no advertising, tracking or developer-operated analytics.
  • Apple handles App Store purchases and the Apple services used by the app.
  • If you deliberately contact Andrii, he receives the information you choose to send. Apple may separately make seller reports available under Apple's own services and terms.

3. Information processed on your devices

When you use the contraction features, Sperata processes the information needed to provide them. This can include:

  • the start and end time of a contraction;
  • the duration calculated from those times;
  • the interval calculated between successive start times;
  • an optional intensity rating that you choose;
  • locally generated record and session identifiers;
  • the current timer state;
  • summaries calculated from your records; and
  • technical state needed to store records and keep Sperata's Apple-device surfaces consistent.

Contraction timing and intensity information can reveal information about pregnancy and health. It is therefore sensitive even though Andrii does not receive it.

Sperata also keeps a local record of your consent choice, including the consent version and date, so that the app can respect that choice. This consent record is not sent to Andrii.

Sperata does not ask for your name, postal address, telephone number or an app profile in order to record contractions.

Sperata does not read from or write to Apple Health. The optional breathing exercises run on the device and do not create a personal breathing history.

Before you can use Sperata's contraction features in this version, the app presents a separate request for your explicit consent to use contraction information that may reveal health information for the timer, history, insights, Apple Watch, widgets, Live Activities, data exports and reports you create. The contraction screens do not display or calculate from saved records unless a current consent record is present. Consent is not bundled with a purchase or acceptance of general terms.

You may refuse. Breathing exercises, restoring or managing an existing Sperata Pro subscription, support and legal information remain available without this consent. A new Pro purchase is not offered until you have made the separate privacy choice because the advertised Pro features use contraction data. If you consent, Sperata records the consent statement, version, date and app language locally on your device.

You may withdraw this consent in Settings. Withdrawal:

  • stops Sperata from processing new contraction records unless you consent again;
  • deletes the contraction records and active contraction state stored by Sperata on the iPhone;
  • removes Sperata PDF-report and machine-readable data-export files that are still in the app's own temporary directory; and
  • publishes an empty state to connected Sperata widgets, Live Activities and the paired Apple Watch.

Sperata reports withdrawal as complete only after it has verified the iPhone history, active state and its own known temporary export files were cleared. If that verification fails, processing stays off and the app asks you to retry.

If an Apple Watch is offline, it may retain its last local copy until the devices reconnect. To remove that copy immediately, remove Sperata from the Watch separately. Withdrawal cannot recall a PDF that you have already shared, remove a recipient's copy or directly erase a copy held in an Apple-managed device backup that was created before withdrawal.

5. What Sperata does with on-device information

Sperata uses on-device information only to perform actions you request, such as:

  • running the timer;
  • saving and displaying history;
  • calculating durations, intervals and descriptive summaries;
  • showing recent information on a paired Apple Watch, widget or Live Activity;
  • allowing available records to be corrected or deleted; and
  • creating a free machine-readable data copy or a Pro PDF report when you choose to export one.

Sperata does not use contraction information for advertising, cross-app tracking, profiling, marketing, developer analytics or research. It does not use it to make a legal or similarly significant decision about you.

6. Storage and Apple-device synchronisation

The main contraction history is stored in Sperata's local app storage on the iPhone. Sperata uses Apple platform technologies to provide information to its widgets and Live Activities and to exchange current status, summaries and a limited recent history with the paired Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch and app extensions may keep local cached copies so that their interfaces continue to work. A Watch action made while the iPhone is unavailable may remain queued locally until the devices reconnect.

Information shown by a widget, Live Activity or Apple Watch can be visible to someone who can see your Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy display, Smart Stack or Watch. You control access to your devices and Apple system surfaces.

Before opening its contraction stores, Sperata asks the operating system to exclude the App Group directory containing the iPhone history and widget snapshots, and the Watch app's directory containing its local snapshot and queued actions, from future Apple device backups. Apple describes this backup exclusion setting as guidance to the system, not a guarantee. Sperata cannot change a backup that Apple created before the exclusion or before you withdrew consent. Restoring an earlier backup may therefore restore an earlier app state, including records or an earlier consent choice. Andrii cannot access those backups. After restoring a device, open Sperata, review the current privacy choice and delete the records or withdraw consent again if necessary.

7. No developer backend, advertising or tracking

Sperata does not operate an account system or a server for contraction history. The app version described by this policy does not include a third-party advertising, tracking, analytics or crash-reporting SDK. It does not transmit contraction records, intensity ratings or generated reports to Andrii automatically. Andrii receives such information only if you deliberately send it to him, for example in a support email.

Apple may independently process device, diagnostic and service information as part of iOS, watchOS, the App Store or other Apple services. If you have chosen to share diagnostics and usage information with app developers in your Apple device settings, Apple may make privacy-protected App Store usage, performance and crash information available to Andrii. Sperata does not intentionally put contraction records or intensity ratings into those reports. Apple controls their collection and privacy protections under its own privacy information and your device settings.

8. Sperata Pro purchases

Sperata Pro purchases are offered through Apple's StoreKit and the App Store. StoreKit provides the app with product and subscription-entitlement information so that Sperata can show available products, verify access and restore an eligible purchase.

Apple, not Andrii, processes your Apple Account and payment-card details. Andrii does not receive your full payment-card number. Apple may make sales, transaction or financial reports available to the App Store seller. Apple determines how it retains and uses information within its services.

Refusing or withdrawing consent does not cancel an existing subscription, and subscription management and Restore Purchases remain available. Pro features that use contraction data remain unavailable while processing is off.

9. Data exports, PDF reports and sharing

While current consent is present, Settings lets you create a JSON file with every completed contraction currently saved on the iPhone and any active contraction. It includes record and session identifiers, start and end times, durations, optional intensity ratings and available start-to-start intervals. The timestamps are included as UTC ISO 8601 text. This machine-readable copy is available without Sperata Pro. It is distinct from the formatted, human-readable PDF report, which is a Pro feature.

Sperata checks the current consent record before reading the contraction store for this export and checks the same consent record again before offering the file to you. When processing is off, Sperata does not silently read retained legacy records for export. You can review the privacy choice and explicitly consent again if you want the app to read and export those local records. A Watch contraction that is still queued only on an offline Apple Watch is not part of the iPhone export until it has synchronised to the iPhone.

When you request either export, Sperata creates the file locally in temporary app storage. Before offering it for sharing, Sperata writes it with Apple's complete file-protection option and verifies a request to exclude that file from future device backups. If those checks fail, Sperata does not offer the file. Backup exclusion remains operating-system guidance rather than a guarantee, as explained in section 6. Sperata does not automatically upload or send an export to Andrii. He receives it only if you deliberately choose him as a recipient.

You decide whether to share it and which person, app or service receives it. After you share or save an export, the selected recipient or service controls its copy under its own privacy practices. Sperata removes the temporary file after its share sheet closes when possible, clears abandoned machine-readable exports when the app next opens, and removes and verifies its known temporary export files during withdrawal. The operating system can separately manage temporary storage.

Review the destination before sharing because either export can contain sensitive contraction information.

10. Optional email support

Opening an email support link does not automatically send a message. If you choose to send an email, the app adds only a generic support subject. It does not automatically attach or insert contraction, health, device or diagnostic data. Andrii uses a personal Gmail mailbox, so Google, your email provider and the services used to route the message process email metadata and the information you include. This can include your email address, the name configured in your email account, message headers, your message and any attachment you add. See Google's Privacy Policy for Google's own processing.

Do not send a contraction record, PDF report, medical record or information about your health, pregnancy or baby in a support email. Sperata support does not need this information and is not an emergency or clinical service. If such information is received unintentionally, Andrii will avoid using it for support and delete it from the active mailbox and trash as soon as reasonably possible, unless retaining it is required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Google may retain backup or security copies under its own policies.

Support correspondence is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to answer and manage the request, protect the service, resolve a dispute or meet an applicable legal obligation. No fixed retention period is promised by this policy.

11. When information leaves your devices

Andrii does not sell personal information and does not share it for behavioural advertising or cross-context tracking.

Information can leave your devices in the following user-directed or Apple-controlled situations:

  • Apple provides App Store, subscription, device-backup or other platform services;
  • you send an email and the email services deliver it;
  • you export a JSON data copy or PDF report to a destination you select; or
  • disclosure of information actually held by Andrii is required by applicable law or is reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

These providers or recipients may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their own notices explain their processing and any transfer safeguards they use. Contraction history that remains only inside Sperata is not transferred to Andrii internationally.

12. Retention and deletion

Different information is retained in different places:

  • Contraction records remain in Sperata's local storage until you delete them, withdraw consent, remove the relevant app data or remove the app.
  • A paired Watch or extension cache is updated when Sperata publishes a new state. An offline device can retain its previous state until it reconnects or the app is removed from that device.
  • The local consent record remains so Sperata can remember and enforce your current choice. It is replaced when you make a new consent choice and is removed with the relevant app data. An Apple backup created earlier may restore an earlier consent record as described in section 6.
  • Sperata removes a temporary JSON or PDF export after its share sheet closes when possible, clears abandoned machine-readable exports when the app next opens, and verifies removal of its remaining known temporary export files during consent withdrawal. Copies that you save or share are controlled by you and the selected recipient or service.
  • Apple controls retention within App Store, payment and backup services. Sperata's backup-exclusion request cannot delete an Apple backup that already exists.
  • Sperata may keep a local, time-limited record of a verified Pro entitlement so eligible Apple-device surfaces continue to work between StoreKit status refreshes. It contains no payment-card details and is refreshed or cleared as the verified entitlement changes.
  • Support email is retained according to the need described in section 10.

You can delete all saved contraction history from History. Withdrawing consent from Settings deletes Sperata's stored contraction data and sends an empty state to connected Sperata surfaces. Because Andrii cannot access your local history, he cannot retrieve it or delete it remotely for you.

Privacy laws use different terminology and do not all apply in the same way. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to Andrii's role:

  • consent is the Article 6(1)(a) basis, and explicit consent is the Article 9(2)(a) condition, for processing contraction information that may reveal health information;
  • the local consent record and privacy-security controls are processed as necessary for the legitimate interest in recording and respecting your privacy choice, without using that record for advertising or profiling;
  • non-sensitive support information is processed to respond to your request and, where applicable, to take steps you request in connection with the app;
  • information needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims is processed for that legitimate interest; and
  • information is processed or retained where an applicable legal obligation requires it.

Andrii does not ask you to send health information for support. If that changes, Sperata will first identify a valid legal basis and special-category condition and update this policy and the support flow.

Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may have rights to ask about personal information that Andrii actually holds, request access or a copy, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights can have legal limits and differ by jurisdiction.

For contraction data currently stored on the iPhone, the app's own controls are the direct way to view it, create a machine-readable copy and delete it. This local export is one practical access tool; it does not claim to replace or satisfy every legal right in every jurisdiction. Andrii cannot provide a server copy because he does not receive that history. For support correspondence or another request about information Andrii actually holds, contact Gudviktorovich@gmail.com.

This section does not claim that every privacy law applies to Andrii or that the same rights and legal grounds apply in every country.

14. Security

Keeping contraction history on your devices limits transmission to the developer. Sperata relies on Apple platform security, your device passcode and the access controls you choose. Protect access to your iPhone, Apple Watch, widgets, Live Activities and exported reports.

No storage or communication method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

15. Children

Sperata is not designed as a service for children. If the law where you live requires permission from a parent or guardian for you to provide valid consent, use Sperata's contraction features only with that permission. No universal age threshold is stated because the applicable rules vary by country.

16. Medical limitation

Sperata is a self-tracking and comfort tool. Its timers, intervals, summaries, charts and reports describe the entries you record. They are not a diagnosis, treatment, clinical monitoring, an assessment of labour or advice about when to seek care.

Do not use Sperata to make or delay a decision about care. Follow guidance from your midwife, maternity unit, doctor or another qualified healthcare professional. Contact an appropriate healthcare professional or emergency service if you are concerned about your health, pregnancy or baby.

17. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised if Sperata's features, data handling or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the version in force. Additional notice will be provided where applicable law requires it.
